A stunning Wedding Venue in Sicily – Aci Castello

Volcanic. Raechelle and Angelo are an explosion of energy. From Australia they chose to get married in Sicily, where Angelo’s family is originally from. We were two wedding photographers and had the chance to take amazing pictures of this intimate elopement with close friends and relatives.

The norman castle of Aci Castello, near Catania, is a scenic fortress built in 1076. It has a small mediterranean botanical garden that is very impressive at sunset. Raechelle was beautiful in her Nicole Milano dress, the breakthrough bridal brand from the iconic designer Vera Wang that creates artisanal and alluring creations for fashion-centric brides.

After the intense ceremony, the spouses took a walk in Acitrezza, the ancient fishing village where Giovanni Verga set the events of the novel I Malavoglia. The landscape is dominated by the imposing stacks of the Cyclops, eight basaltic rocks which, according to legend, were thrown into the sea by Polyphemus to hit Ulysses as he escaped.

As a wedding photographer I had the opportunity to take very particular portraits of the bride that she really loves. A light wind and a bride veil can do magic! A unique day.
